Who do you think needs to apologize? DH is a great guy and we normally don't fight but last night I went out and when I came home there were dirty clothes all over the living room floor, dinner dishes still on the table etc etc. I figured he'd get to it this morning but he left it all there again, so I cleaned it up and called his cell and said hey, that wasn't very cool of you. He started yelling that he was too tired last night and needed to get back to work, so I hung up. What's next? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

he wasn't too tired. He didn't feel the need to do what he thinks is your job. CRAP. I tell my dh and my older dd that I am no maid and if they dirty a dish, they must clean it. I will leave it there for them (we don't have a dishwasher). [ Reply | More ]

i considered that but there were 4 peoples dishes plus all the pots i'd used to make the meal - it would have been more work to move around them all day than to just put them in the dishwasher [ Reply | More ]

Forget it and move on or ask why he's stressed. [ Reply | More ]

well, it's not such a nice thing to do, but I guess I'd just pretend the whole thing never happened -- why go on and on about it. if he brings up the hang up, then you should apologize but point out (gently, or jokingly) that you didn't appreciate his behaviour or his yelling) [ Reply | More ]

If this is out of character for him then yes I would apologise for hanging up but say 'I did it because I had to clear up after you'. This gives him a chance to apologise too and you at least will know you have done the right thing imo [ Reply | More ]

a dh: If we are having a spat and I say I am busy and have to get back to work and you hang up... why would you apologize? That is what I wanted. [ Reply | More ]

drop it. you've made your point to him, there's no point in belaboring it. [ Reply | More ]
