I think different stages of one's life can have different priorities. I've focused on my career, my social life, my body, my education,my kids, etc. depending on lots of factors. I dothink even if you are at a kid-centered stage, a woman deserves to have other interests, both for her own sanity and the well being of her family. [ Reply | More

I think your life should be about your kids, but not the the exclusion of your own life. When they are young I think it does revolve around them b/c of the high demand of taking care of them. [ Reply | More

I agree with that. Over time your involvement is phasing out gradually. In the beginning it is all about the kids. Later on you have more time to focus on other things again. [ Reply | More

I think it should revovle around my life with kids. I think all our needs ought to matter. BUT when there is a dad (or mom) need which butts up against one of the kids, we'll usually defer to the kids. I should also add, I am very sensitive to needs versus wants. [ Reply | More

absolutely not. You are a wife, daughter, sister, friend, neighbor, coworker, parent. You wear many hats. People who only wear the "mom" hat and make their life revolve around their children do a huge diservice to their children. [ Reply | More
