great ages...we just went with a just turned 9 and just turned 6. I'm glad we didn't go sooner. You know to have water sent to your room from Staples, right? Saves buying it in the parks. Alternatively, buy it agallon at a time (we got ours in the hotel gift shop) and refill bottles to carry around. We also found the meal plan to be a good deal....saved us quite a bit. by the way, as a possibility for having a vacation more frequently (but much, much less expensive) look into Wildwood Crest New Jersey. Stay in a motel or condo with a pool. Great beaches and boardwalk with reasonable food and entainment options. [ Reply | More ]

very brackish.....my kids and dh and I did not like the taste. I think we get spoiled by the water in NYC. It is also a convenience factor. Easier to have a bottle in your carry-bag than search for a water fountain. [ Reply | More ]

op: thanks so much. (I was gone to bring dd to school). I will take your advice on the water. We are big water drinkers (we live in the city too) and the bottled water in the parks is $$$ [ Reply | More ]

good for you for saving up for it rather than charging it. Seems like no one saves up for anything anymore... [ Reply | More ]

op: thx. We have vowed (we are paying down debt) that if we can't pay something in cash or save up for it, it's not worth the credit card headache [ Reply | More ]
