Was talking to a mom in the playground today; I don't know her that well but she seemed sort of strange (stranger than usual). Then she turned and breathed on me and I realized she was drunk. Know this is naive, but felt sort of shocked to see a mom drunk in the middle of the day that way. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

i admit i'm totally naive but i once had a coworker who had a drinking problem and it really took me by surprise. i mean, it was ten o'clock in the morning. gave me the creeps. the sad creeps. [ Reply | More

so sad. when I was growing up, my mom had a party. a woman was talking to a family friend, asked if he wanted a vodka on the rocks, he said sure, she pulled the bottle of vodka out of her purse (my mom wasn't serving vodka, just wine and beer). the woman later died of something alcohol related-cirrohsis (sp?) of the liver. at thist time, she had two kids who were like 10 and 12. v. sad.
