Selling our apartment without a broker, don't want to have an open house this weekend b/c of travel/kids. Should I post on Craigs list FSBO, appointment only or just wait until next week and do NYtimes and Craigs list when we can do an open house too? Any other places to post [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

you don't have to do an open house if you don't want to. you can post or email pictures to interested buyers, eliminating some of the less interested ones. [ Reply | More

Not with us. We got stood up constantly, weirdos would finally show up and ask for tons of info. then disappear after we got them what they asked for. Everyone was nice to our face but impossible to reach later. [ Reply | More

I'm not OP, but I didn't work with buyer's agents when I sold my house on my own. Most people who come to see a FSBO listing don't have brokers and want to avoid them anyway. [ Reply | More

Maybe in NYC the market will withstand it. FSBOs in the burbs are just sitting there, no one wants to deal with a greedy owner when there is so much on the market. [ Reply | More

I agree that you can't be greedy. FSBO should give the flexibility to sell at a much lower price. I did FSBO in the burbs after 4 months with a broker and sold the house in a month. [ Reply | More
