for women, it can be on either side, and it can manifest with lots of different symptoms, so be careful. mine felt like i was ovulating or getting menstrual cramps. then later, i passed out, couldn't stand up and couldn't stop shaking. but by that point, there was no pain in my abdomen anymore.
