Our recycling was not picked up today and I have no idea why (the neighbors' recycling was picked up so it's not that they just didn't show). Should I call the town to find out what the problem is a/o to complain? (yes, I realize this is not a huge problem in the grand scheme of things, but we recently moved and I've spent a lot of time breaking down boxes to comply with the recycling rules so I can get rid of them). suggestions? Make sure you got the separation right first. If you rat on DOS in NYC they will check your garbage for the rest of their time at that site and ticket you whenever they remember. [ Reply | More

oy. obviously I don't want tickets! I just want them to take the stuff, and if there's some problem, I need to know what it is so I can fix it (e.g., sometimes people put their leaves in plastic bags, which is a no-no, and the DOS puts big stickers on the plastic bags saying that's why they weren't picked up). the only thing I can think is that it was more stuff than they wanted to take, but they didn't take any of it, even a small box of newspapers.
