I gave birth without meds with my dr. and an l&d nurse present. Dh was there if I needed anything, but you are the one who does the work. [ Reply | More ]

The doula was helpful in the very early stages of labor, before we went to the birth center. She stayed with me while DH got a nap, made lunch, monitored the contractions, but once things really started happening, I found her to be too much in my face and annoying. I didn't use one for my 2nd. [ Reply | More ]

I had two natural births without a doula, but I think it might have been nice, especially for the first one. For the second, dh and I felt like we didn't need anyone else. [ Reply | More ]
