Any divorce lawyers on? I live in NY and need to get a divorce because dh had an affair, it gets complicated. I have to file to remove the conditions on my greencard in 11 months, and NY law wont allow me a divorce without a one year separation first. Unless, however I file for divorce because of adultry, but from what I read, its near to impossible to PROVE this, and a judge will want proof, and a confession from dh is not enough. He feels bad, and wants to help me, but what can we do? What would be accepted as proof of adultry? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

honestly, I would wait to get divorced. it's so complicated otherwise and if you just wait the 11 months you won't have to worry about it anymore. [ Reply | More

is dh in agreement about getting divorced? if so, it seems to me that a divorce on adultery grounds should be possible. you need to consult a real divorce lawyer though, not just UB. [ Reply | More
