I think the moms at the park think I am a mean mommy. I am constantly saying "No" to my almost 2 yo in my not nice tone. Today she kept going into people's stroller and bags to take toys and treats and I kept scolding and scolding her. Then I had to tell her give the other kids space (she wanted to play with the other kid's jackets), or not to push, not to throw her snack on the ground, etc. None of the other moms seem to do this as much as me and I feel like they don't like me or something. My dd is five and a half now. I took her to an event recently and she was the only kid there. Great behavior, got along wonderfully with the adults. We had a fantastic time. And it's because I set limits consistently when she was two. Keep doing what you're doing. [ Reply | More

that is good to know. DD is usually very good when we go out to eat (to a certain extent) and stuff. I hope she'll be well behaved and play well with friends when she is your dd's age. [ Reply | More

One thing --- it was never just "no ... no ... no" with her. If she didn't listen, I'd escalate. Take her out of the situation, give her a time out, get her attention somehow. She knew a "no" meant business. [ Reply | More
