DH and I need to move out of the city so DC can go to good public schools..... BUT we love our apartment and living in the city. Should we sublet our apt out for the next fifteen years and move back in when our kids go to college? Are we crazy? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I agree w/this. We own real estate in Manhattan and would never allow a tenant to sublease for 15 years, You can keep in touch w/us and maybe in 18 years we will rerent to you again [ Reply | More

OP here. We do own the apt (2 BR on the UWS near Columbia). So I think we would always have renters. Our coop board is pretty lenient about approving sublets. So we might do this (won't start until 2009-2010 school year since that's when DCs start K). [ Reply | More
