BF/Pumping moms: Need your advice. DB is almost 11 months old. I have been pumping 2 bottles since I went back to work when she was 5mo. About a month ago my supply went way down--I can still bf at night and am but when I pump I get about 2-4 ounces. And that is two pumping sessions. Should I just bag it? She is eating tons of regular food. I had set a goal of pumping until she was 1 but I think it's getting silly. Am worried about supply tho; will I still be able to nurse her in am and pm? Should I keep pumping for two more months? What have others done in similar sitch? tia. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

you are me! my db is 10.5 mo, and I this is my 1st work week without pumping. I'm still nursing at night, but I have very little milk left. I was trying to go to 1 year too, but my supply isn't there. I tried fenugreek and the tea, but nothing seemed to work. Don't beat yourself up. You've done great! i stopped pumping around 11 mos and introduced cows milk (though I had a frozen stash, so I was able to mix bm and cow's millk). I bf am/pm until 14 mos. my supply did drop after stopping the pumping though. congrats on getting this far-not easy. btdt with 2 kids. [ Reply | More

it's silly. you can go right to cow's milk now. 12 months is not a magic number - you are close enough and you did great. it is the best thing ever when you stop! good for everyone. [ Reply | More

At around 11 mos, I stopped pumping (DD had never had formula, my goal) and used up my small freezer stach and then went cow's milk. I nursed morning and evening until she was baut 13 mos when my supply just petered out. You've done a fabulous job!!!!!!!!!!!! [ Reply | More
