Well, from day 1 we never let her sleep in our bdrm. We stayed in her room on a spare bed until she was 6 weeks old and sleeping thru the night. Then we returned to our room and got a monitor. At night the routine is consistent- bath, bottle, book, blanket, baby einstein cd and bed. She's never taken a pacifier, but prefers sucking her thumb. [ Reply | More ]

LOL. my 4 y/o first and only is also a great sleeper and I will take absolutely no responsibility for that. That is all her and I had nothing to do with it. [ Reply | More ]

She's only 11 months old? hehee he heee. Way to go! I'm sure she'll NEVER have any sleep problems ever. You should write a book. [ Reply | More ]

why would she? she's a good sleeper, period. unless something traumatizing happened to her, I see no validity in your comment. [ Reply | More ]

of course something changed- he started kindergarten! that's a big deal for a 5yo. Once they know they have school in the morning, some refuse to go to bed. [ Reply | More ]

LOL!!!! You have no idea what you are in for. Dropping a nap is usually more than enough to reset a DCs sleeping habits. So is the first real nightmare and becoming articulate enough to express fear of the dark. All bets are off when DC moves from a crib to a bed. [ Reply | More ]

i just can't imagine believing it. sorry. right now dd is an amazing eater. eats anything that is offered to her. but she's only 1. i know there will come a time when she will refuse and throw tantrums. confidence is great but being realistic is too. [ Reply | More ]

op- when that time comes, you have a choice. be the parent (b/c you're smarter than a 2yo) or be the fool, like my sister who runs the kitchen around making 3 different meals at night for her picky kids. [ Reply | More ]

it helps to be realistic. there are many, many things about your DCs development and personality that you have absolutely no control over. sleeping habits are very close to the top of that list. [ Reply | More ]

OK, OP. You win. You are the best, most capable mommy in the world! Would you like a badge or a trophy? LOLOLOLOL. aaahhhh, to be the first-time mom of a only girl child again... those were the glory days! No seriously, you clearly have it all figured out. Write a book. You're awesome. Bravo!
