my babysitter is pregnant after not having kids for 12 years. i am very happy for her but our dc are starting pre k programs in the fall and i really need a cleaning lady once a week and maybe 5 hours of sitting.i dont want her to nor expect her to do housework and she is really not into it anyway. how can i nicely explain that after the summer we are really not willing to do hire her any longer? also she has medicaid and she asked me if i knew anyone who carried bery low. her doc is of no help- she is 12 weeks and she is already feels teh baby very low. i have never heard of this. i would feel weird having a preganant woman take care of and clean up after my own kids. but that is just me. if you were a big corp. you could be sued for discrimination if you fire her because she is pregnant. also as a woman where is your compassion. you really shoudl keep her until seh cannot perform her tasks any longer. that is the risk you take in hiring a nanny. they have lives outside of your home and pregnancy is always a possibility. sorry i just cannot feel bad for you. if you let her go give her a month's pay. that will ease your conscious and give her time to figure out what to do. then again if she is a nanny i cannot imagine she can get another position. but i am sure you have been paying all the correct taxes so she can collect unemployment right?
