Anyone ever tile their own bathroom? Mine's small, I'd like to do it myself, I'm pretty handy. Advice? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

watch as many DIY videos about it as you can and don't try to use premixed grout/adhesive [ Reply | More ]

are you going over other tile or ripping something up and doing a new subfloor? [ Reply | More ]

My DH laid some of the tile in our house, but he had a pro come in and do the underfloor. He said he couldn't get it that smooth on his own. A smooth, strong underpinning is key for tiling. [ Reply | More ]

True dat. The reason those do-it-yourself shows never go back to the bathroom a year later is because those uneven floors are all covered in cracked tiles a year later. They sell self leveling mud which is a good option depending on application. -a dh [ Reply | More ]

I'm a dw, and I could have told you that. your gender truly has nothing to do with your handiness, dear. I've done my share of tiling floors and walls myself. [ Reply | More ]
