Am totally clueless - have an 18mo, live in Downtown Brooklyn. When and where the heck should I apply for preschool? How much can i expect to pay? Do i still pay the nanny full-time when she goes to school? thank you! [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

You start looking for programs in September. Families First has a list of local preschools if you want to get a jump now (Google it). You can expect to pay a lot, but it depends on the school and the program you choose. Either pay your nanny full time or else find a good friend to share her with. Or expect her to quit. thank you very very much for the info! I actually already share a nanny, but who knows in a year and a half or so... so if she is a December baby, she will be 2yrs10mo or so... very cute... big girl! [ Reply | More ]

You are welcome. Pay attention to cut-off dates. Some schools may call 2.10 too young for a 3 yo program. It is virtually impossible to get into a 2 yo program. They are all clogged up with siblings. [ Reply | More ]
