Wow, my mom really hates me. She can't find it in her to ever compliment me. Everything about her demeanor towards me is subtle criticism. I told her that I was afraid my dcs would grown up to be fat like me and she said, "don't worry, that won't happen." I'm not fat btw, chubby but not obese. She is intimidatd b/c I sah (she woh), has an attitude about it. She doesn't like me and my American manners (vs. old world like her). She just doesn't like me. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I'm sorry. Have you ever talked to a therapist about your relationship with your mom? I found that when I became a mother myself a lot of these issues came to a head. I feel like I am a better person and parent for having worked them out to a certain degree. It is a terrible feeling that I totally understand. I now tend to feel sorry for my mom instead of feeling bad about myself which is a much healthier and realistic place to be. [ Reply | More

Yes I have and it helped a lot. I just have to let it go, that feeling of needing her approval. I see her very clearly now. SHe is highly critical and judgmental of everyone. [ Reply | More
