At 38 weeks pg would you drive 3 hours to spend a couple of nights with your parents? DH is working all the time, I have nothing to do here and I really want to get out of town. I don't feel like this baby's coming anytime soon. Totally bad idea? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

ITA. In addition to the pain, lots of bloody goop starts coming out. I would not do it. FWIW, I went into labor about 18 hours after my OB said I wasn't dialated or effaced at all, and I was 38 weeks pregnant. [ Reply | More

Bad idea. Your due date is the midpoint of a curve that begins around 38 weeks. In other words, no telling when you might go into labor now. [ Reply | More

My Ob won't let me travel that far at 38 wks. and I wouldn't want to. Can parents come stay with you? Mom might help you clean, do baby laundry, put meals in freezer. That might be more of what you need than a three hour car ride. [ Reply | More

he is taking a week off and then can work from home some as needed. we're aren't planning on having family here for the first week, then my mom will come for awhile and maybe his mom for a bit (i'm really hesitant on that though). i know i'm going to be a little lonely but at least I'll have something to do and not feel like a total waste of oxygen - or I hope so.
