The acceptance process has been taken from inside the school to an outside agency that basically messed the whole process up. [ Reply | More ]

Well, there is the edgy but realistic "no pre-K option" you know. There are generations of us who survived without it. That said, the BOE should be forced to start building schools [ Reply | More ]

My dd will be in a daycare program that has a preschool curriculum when she hits that age. Don't some other parents go that route too? [ Reply | More ]

I'm still waiting to hear and it seems like other people on this board already got a response in the mail. Is anyone else still waiting to hear? [ Reply | More ]

But public pre-K has always been an iffy thing with the DOE with such few programs. No parents should have ever banked on it IMO. Most states don't even have public pre-K and even K is technically "optional." Plus I know in my DS UPK it is only from 9-12 so you still need care for a considerable amount of time if you work. Might as well just put that towards private pre-K. And if you don't work and are planning on public K then pre-K is not all that necessary IMO. [ Reply | More ]
