But public pre-K has always been an iffy thing with the DOE with such few programs. No parents should have ever banked on it IMO. Most states don't even have public pre-K and even K is technically "optional." Plus I know in my DS UPK it is only from 9-12 so you still need care for a considerable amount of time if you work. Might as well just put that towards private pre-K. And if you don't work and are planning on public K then pre-K is not all that necessary IMO. [ Reply | More
