Anyone lived in a house during a major renovation? how horrible and how long? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

wouldn't call it a major renovation, as it was done in stages over about 5 months. wasn't horrible, but the renos were pretty room-specific. biggest pain in the butt was when we had all our ceilings redone -- took two weeks, there was dust everywhere, all the furniture moved around and covered. that was a pain -- at one point, we were all living in the master bedroom! but it was worth it, and we saved a lot of money by not moving out for the duration.
