you can use this oil (it's look like a yellow, jellyish thing in a clear bottle) that keeps it from getting water rings. i have an antique table that has held up well. it dried out a lot so we put this oil on it once a month. it makes a big difference. i think the bottle has a horse on it. i bought at grocery store.
