child def. needs both parents in their life but there is a diff. between joint custody and one parent having physical custody while the other parent has liberal visitation. i am all for the latter. true joint custody where child splits time evenly between parents is really hard on child. Also a lot of judges don't like this option. in fact it is usually only given if both parents agree to it in my experience. [ Reply | More
