At what age did DC learn to recognize both upper & lower case letters? Also, at what age did DC start trying to put 3-letter words together? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

dd is almost 5 (was in prek this year) and she recognizes upper and lower case letters. doesn't read yet. ds is 3.5 and only recognizes upper. (some lower, but not most). i think it has more to do with the school they are in or how much their parents teach them. [ Reply | More

my 6 year old knew all his letters by the time he was 3 and 1/2 My younger son (3 yr, 3 months) only knows some (letters in his name and first letters of friends names and will probably take a little longer, [ Reply | More

i think there are two issues. one that every kid is different. and the other that kids are sometimes able to learn it if someone bothes to teach it to them. [ Reply | More
