Anyone have (or know someone who has) three kids, living in NYC? Is it doable if you're not independently wealthy??? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I wonder if it's that much more stressful than two. I've heard that after two, it's just "addinganother potato to the pot" at dinnertime. I.e., no big deal. [ Reply | More

I've heard that, too, but I don't buy it, because if you have one or two, there's enough adults to balance it out, whereas if you have more than two, there's always going to be one kid running away while you tie the others' shoes, you know what I mean? [ Reply | More

I think that it's do-able without loads of money, but I'd assume public school and shared bedrooms. We all like different "extras" -- 3 DC on a limited budget might mean daycare and after-school instead of a nanny or less frequent travel or not-fancy camp in the summertime. [ Reply | More

We have three. They share the bedroom. We have a part-time nanny. They go to public schools. We could need more space and one-on-one attention for each kid is limited, but they have each other... We love it that way! [ Reply | More
