DS is barely 18mo and the trantraums have already begun. Any advice on how to handle them? Will this really continue for 1 year?? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

My ds is only 11 months old and they have started. From what I've been told, I have this to look forward to untill he's 3. [ Reply | More ]

my 19 mo has been throwing them for about 2 months. we just put him down and ignore him - but stay near so he doesn't hurt himself. he eventually loses steam. [ Reply | More ]

op: i have been ignoring, too, and trying to redirect, but its just annoying. and i can;t help but think that i have many months of this ahead of me. Anyone out there managed to avoid or lessen terrible twos? [ Reply | More ]

the happiest toddler helped me. i didn't use the way of speaking he talks about, but i did say what i thought toddler was feeling/going through and it seemed to help. [ Reply | More ]

op: that is interesting. i bought the book, read a bit of it, and was wondering if it really worked. that "toddlerese" thing just seems queer. [ Reply | More ]
