Hi UB. I'm the disoriented wife (27 wks pg) whose DH was posting for me this afternoon. We just got back from the ER. I just found an article online describing "painless migraines". They consist of exactly my symptoms: spots in front of the eyes, confusion, disorientation, difficulty finding words. So, so bizarre. I've never had a migraine before and never knew it could manifest this way. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

just logged on and saw this. Did they say anything about transient global amnesia?? I'll need to search back and see what happened to you, but this is what happened to me. Had a migraine (minor one, painless, affected vision only). Next day, lost my short term memory for the next 12 hours. VERY bizarre and disorienting. Went to a neurologist the next day, still wasn't 100% but MRI and CT scan were fine. Diagnosis: TGA. [ Reply | More ]

^^ and I have a friend who experiences word loss when she gets migraines too. I think it happened when she was pregnant. You must stay hydrated. [ Reply | More ]

What's TGA? Wow -- thanks for sharing your experience. I'll have to keep an eye out for follow-up symptoms tomorrow. They were going to run more tests on me, but I think everyone is closed for the holiday weekend. [ Reply | More ]

eek--scary I'm sure. But a friend who was pregnant got this too. Same trouble finding words. Glad you went to the ER and now you can rest easy about it. Weird, huh, what a migraine can do... [ Reply | More ]
