MY DD is 11 mo but the bickering with my 3 yo is non stop. Everything she touches or goes near, he has a shit fit. He cant handle being around her for 5 minutes without freaking out over his stuff. should I make some stuff just his and keep it out of her reach? What about when he wants her baby toys...its so maddening [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I'm in same sitch and have recently been making a big deal about the older one's stuff like "Oh no, little one, that's your big sister's thing that she's been working so hard on." and then when the older one wants the baby stuff I kind of remind her about how we handled it the other way around and she seems better. I also make a big deal about doing a non-baby activity (building blocks or something) that is something special for just big kids and grown-ups to do together when the baby is napping. Things are not perfect, but improving. [ Reply | More ]

i took one box (or you can take one shelf) and your 3yo can designate what are "his" toys. if it doesn't fit on that shelf or he doesn't designate it for that shelf, it's for everyone to play with. [ Reply | More ]
