DH has two autistic siblings, several cousins, etc. DD is 13 months old and he is driving me crazy, pointing out her possibly-autistic traits. First of all, she's too young to diagnose. Second of all, I really think most 13 month olds like to take things out of their moms purses and then put them all back again. Right? That's the only thing he notices about her behavior that worries him. We go to the websites, look at the early signs, we've talked to his parents, they all agree that its too early and her love for my pocketbook is not (necessarily) an issue. Sigh. How can I get DH to chill out? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

That sounds very stressful ... for both of you. When I need to buy myself 5 minutes to put groceries away, I give my wallet to my 16 mos old (I take the coins out so she won't swallow them) and she loves removing every possible card/paper. [ Reply | More ]
