So my ds with an April birthday will be one of the youngest boys in his class-maybe I should hold him back for another year of preschool [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

How does April make you the youngest? December would make my ds the youngest. [ Reply | More ]

Privates rarely take boys with bdays beyond May, therefore April boys are among the youngest. [ Reply | More ]

When is your district's cutoff? That sounds pretty silly. [ Reply | More ]

NP: It doesn't have much to do with the district. In NYC, summer birthdays and increasingly late spring birthdays are held back a year in preschool for PRIVATE school admission. They want older kids. Makes their records look better when everyone is reading by middle of K. Of course they're all reading, they'd be in public 1st grade [ Reply | More ]
