Contented Little Baby book by Gina Ford, which was recommended by my childbirth instructor who was a maternity nurse, has detailed schedules for the first year. While I didn't follow them strictly, it was helpful to give me some guidance and to anticipate small changes in feeding, sleeping, and devleopmental as DB got older. When my DD was a newborn I gave her baths earlier in the evening and tried to put her to bed by 7/7:30 (albeit she slept for 2-3 hours before the next feeding), but I tried to create a bedtime ritual anyway so that by the time she was 12wks, which is when their sleep becomes more regular and consolidated in the evening, it wasn't totally new to her.
