Found a sick baby hamster in the park, felt sorry for him and took him home. Not sure what to do with him if he survives. Hate rodents, but what could we do? Anyone know what to do with a hamster at least in the short term? Is lettuce, etc. okay to feed? Can they drink out of a tiny bowl or do they need on of those drippy bottle things? I think it's a Campbell's Russian dwarf hamster (google images) if that makes a difference. TIA [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

It would eat any fresh fruit you had, mash it up. or maybe any ceriel. rehydrate it it moistened foods. good luck with nursing it back to health, but maybe keep small children away from handleing til you get the ok from vet or pet shop. also try dog or cat food, moistened. We have one of the Russian dwarfs. They are so fast, I am amazed you were able to catch it. [ Reply | More ]
