My left foot is really hurting me (and has, when I first get out of bed) for a long time, but now the bottom of my foot is swollen and it's REALLY painful. Is there a foot doctor I can go to, or just a podiatrist? Why don't feet deserve a real doctor?? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

yes, there are foot doctors--an orthopedist. kind of sounds like plantar fasciitis, eexcept for the swelling [ Reply | More ]

np: Actually sounds more like a neuroma which tends to hurt more when you first get up and the nerve first has to push through the bony canal where it is "hanging up" then feels better as you move around. BTDT! Hope you feel better soon - try taking ibuprofen or aleve until you can see a doctor [ Reply | More ]

Podiatrists are "real" doctors and spend their entire training focusing on foot problems (unlike MD's who focus more globally. That said, try an orthopedic foot and ankle specialist [ Reply | More ]
