if you are wealthy enough to have shoes and bags custom made for you, hire a stylist to help you decide. [ Reply | More ]

she could be in Hong Kong, where it's not that expensive and you can have anything you like copied. A friend of mine would buy nice shoes in Paris and then have them copied in Hong Kong in every color. [ Reply | More ]

LOL - that's what I thought! usually the items came out better if they had the actual sample on hand, rather than just pictures of it. Can you buy something you like as a departure point - show it to them and then work out the details to make it yours? (and then return the item) [ Reply | More ]

good idea - bags seem to be harder to copy if they are pretty detailed...and some dont copy well in general [ Reply | More ]

go for the line, size, proportion, materials, etc. Personally I like a cleaner look anyway. Make sure whatever hardware they use is nice - it can make or break the look of the bag. GL [ Reply | More ]

true- and don't hesitate to ask them to re-make it if it doesnt meet your expectations (within reason!) [ Reply | More ]

so nice....actually speaking of that do you know of any good HK tailors? I found one once and online had a bunch of Bonpoint clothes "cloned", but it was pretty expensive....I am sure there are more reasonable ones out there [ Reply | More ]

i'm going to start looking for some women's tailors - there are millions of men's ones and they typically dont do women's clothes...would like to get some stuff made before i go back to work (mat leave) in a few months....kids clothes - not sure who does this since they love to buy the real bonpoint here and they sell gap, oshkosh overstock at dirt cheap prices...fwiw i love bonpoint clothes but soooo $$$ [ Reply | More ]

I know...I had some hand-me down Bonpoint things - they were gorgeous shirts, skirts and I bought some Liberty fabric on Ebay and had a bunch of copies made...you are right, I was really going to a men's high end suit tailor...still reasonable by US standards, but I am sure it would be a fraction of the cost if it were a smaller more local type shop- without the big ad budget [ Reply | More ]
