We are renting a house. The property managers are putting a lockbox on our house next week. We will get 24 hours notice before somebody comes by with a real estate agent. How much stuff should we have laying out around the house? Do you think people steal little things? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Yes, people steal little things. Don't leave stuff like Ipods or digital cameras or any jewlery around. If it can be swept into a pocket or a purse, it might walk away. [ Reply | More ]

See I think people will steal given the chance and if it is small. I have one plastic crate that locks, maybe I will buy another. [ Reply | More ]

Do you think people will rifle through a dresser drawer if the real estate agent does not accompany them through the entire house?? [ Reply | More ]

possibly. Given the times we live in, it would not surprise me at all. [ Reply | More ]

what kind of stuff do you generally leave lying around? Rolexes? Wads of cash? I would put away any financial papers and jewelry (it should be anyway). I doubt anyone is going to care about toys left out and your dirty dishes. [ Reply | More ]

You want to clean a lot of stuff out anyway, since it will show better and it's easier to purge and get rid of stuff than it is to move it. [ Reply | More ]

No, I have already purged out our stuff last year. We are only carrying what we really like with us now. We are Navy and move a lot. The maid service will do a final clean of the place for us. [ Reply | More ]

We are moving to our next post. We had to give notice to our property managers. They will be touring people through while our stuff is still inside. [ Reply | More ]
