anyone else have your dc have an accident right in front of you, when you turned your head away for a split second? it happened today -- 3yo dd tripped walking down stairs in playground, bloody mouth, thought teeth might be loose, but weren't, mouth still sore. feel like a terrible mom. of course. they run around, they fall down. it doesn't matter if you're looking straight at them - you can't always catch them. they heal fast. [ Reply | More ]

don't feel bad; it happens and will happen again. My ds had a big bruise with swelling near his eye when I picked him up at school today. Teacher didn't even notice. DS said he hit his head on playground equipment during recess and didn't bother telling teacher. [ Reply | More ]

I could never be a baby sitter for this reason. My kids have gotten hurt so many times when they are just an arms length away. [ Reply | More ]

It happens to everyone - 4 y/o DD fell down a half a flight of stairs when we were visiting my BF's house. She and BF's DD were playing dress up and came down to show us their latest outfits, she just slipped on hardwood stairs as I watched from 15 feet away. She sobbed for a little while, bled a little (happily sucked on a cold, wet washcloth) and was fine by the next morning. We are not bad mothers. [ Reply | More ]
