i am newly pg. my ob wants me to come in for u/s when i am 6 weeks pg. isn't this a little early? should i ask him if i can postpone it? if he doesn't see anything, i don't want to freak out esp if you can't see anything before 8 weeks [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

the dr. may be able to see heartbeat, but if not, the dr. will be able to tell if the fetus us the right size for six weeks.... it's worth going in to see if you're on the right track. [ Reply | More

I had my first db 14 years ago and back then they never did a viability sono. In fact, they just listened for the hb at 12 weeks and full anatomy scan at 20. There is absolutely no harm in waiting until 8 weeks if that's what you want to do. The doc will surely go along with that. [ Reply | More
