So, the Little Red article has me wondering...How are you SUPPOSED to apply to pre-K in the city? We could maybe afford private for a year but it would be very, very hard. Do we apply for private and forego public altogether or just keep our fingers crossed for public? Do any private spots open up after the public pre-K admissions process ends? I'm in Brooklyn,BTW. DS is 2 so I haven't really thought about this before. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

The DOE introduced a new procedure for applying to universal Pre-K this year. You need to find out if there's a universal preK in your area. And even if there is, you need to identify private options, since there are so few public preK seats. [ Reply | More ]
