join a gym; drink water (keeping hydrated helps liver function more efficiently to metabolize fat); pay attn to what you eat/when (maybe a food diary); try to walk more [ Reply | More ]

Weight Watchers and start walking a lot and trying some exercise at home. Don't join a gym yet.. trying to do all at once will overwhelm you. Plus, with weather getting nicer, can do more outside. [ Reply | More ]

ita - start walking, 15 mins, 20 mins - keeping going up. then is you can run, that will take off the weight the fastest. [ Reply | More ]

focus on diet, try to be more active on a daily basis, even if it just means a 10 minute walk [ Reply | More ]

op: i think this will work for me. i can't see myself doing weight watchers at this point. especially b/c i don't have much flexibility in my diet. [ Reply | More ]

You're not really committed to doing anything about it - you're just saying you are. The ONLY way to lose significant weight is to modify your diet. Toning up will come later. [ Reply | More ]

i'm actually in the mood to *do* rather than not do, so that's why i think exercise is a better option for me than watching my diet. but i am willing to cut out snacking and unhealthy breakfasts, which i think are my biggest dietary problems. i don't need weight watchers for that. [ Reply | More ]

Excuses excuses... Look, I'm normally a really skinny, vain fashion girl (now 39 wks pg, so all bets are off). I'm being honest here. If/when I have weight to lose, it doesn't matter if I go to the gym 5-6 days a week! If you wanna take it off, efficiently and effectively, you change how you eat. Period. The gym is for when you're shaping. [ Reply | More ]

ok. thanks. i am willing to make changes to my eating habits. i'm going to start being more active, eating better and we'll see what happens. If it's not working, i can reconsider weight watchers. [ Reply | More ]

np: I agree with this OR, most weight loss experts say that diet is the biggie, exercise is helpful for keeping weight off, but not for taking it off [ Reply | More ]

Doesn't work that way. You need to change how you eat. WW is the least impactful, lowest maintenance way to do it and it works. [ Reply | More ]

i think i'd go to the gym if i went on my way home. but then i'd have to pay the sitter more plus the gym membership which is a strain for us. that's why i htink i'd have to go in the evenings when dh is home and by that time i'd probably be too tired to drag myself out. [ Reply | More ]

WW and something reasonable. Like no more fast forwarding through commercials. Every commercial you do sit ups. [ Reply | More ]
