This question is probably too vague, but here goes - DH is just finishing up a terrible stretch of work (months of working long hours, every single day). We want a last-minute vacation, something as easy as possible. I have never done a resort vacation and have NO idea where to begin. I was looking at Expedia and Travelocity vacation packages, but I just don't know even what islands to pick. We could take 2 yo DS but are open to our first trip without him, too. Any suggestions? Thanks! [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

Barbados. You could go on tours around the island, snorkel, or do nothing. [ Reply | More ]

if bringing dc, try to go to a four seasons, or a ritz carlton as a second choice. The hotel makes things so easy for you, plus they are in good locations. They have everything you need for a dc so there is much less for you to worry about. Look at locations and then pick one based on availability and price. [ Reply | More ]

If you want a totally hassle-free relaxing vaca, DH and I have had a wonderful time in Puerto Vallarta. They have great all-inclusive resorts with a number of good restaurants on the premises. The resort we've gone to that we loved is called Melia. We've also stayed at a couple of the biggies, Sheraton or Hilton or Hyatt (sorry I can't remember which now.) but if you want the inside scoop on how good these places are I highly recommend going to to vet them out first. Also, you'll get a great deal now since it's off season. Have a great time. [ Reply | More ]
