What do you think the differences are between PS87 and PS9 G&T - positives, negatives? Any input? [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

PS9 G&T has the top scoring kids so generically a very good peer group and great teachers, kids come from all over D3 so less of a community than 87. 87 is one of the best gened schools in the city has a very strong local community and good teachers. [ Reply | More ]

Size is a major difference. How many K classes at 87? It's one of the largest elementary schools in Manhattan. There's going to be one G&T class at PS 9 next year, in my understanding. [ Reply | More ]

Yes - I think there are maybe 6 classes at 87? But - is that a good thing or a bad thing? I can think of positives/negatives to small and big. [ Reply | More ]

np: I always prefer big if they have the resources to handle it. I went to a very small school and it became very clicky and there was no where else to go. [ Reply | More ]

2nd OR here--I think a size somewhere in between the two schools asked about is good; I like a school where many adults know the children. [ Reply | More ]
