Rental building just was bought. I've been a tenant for 15+years. Landlord is calling for a copy of my original lease but won't say why - only that it will help us. Not sure what to do. What do you think? TIA (very nervous about this - have 2dc) [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

I agree it sounds odd, but unless you have a reason to believe there was a problem with it, give it to him. I am sure he could track one down on his own if he wanted. He might be checking to see if you have a right of first refusal if hte builiding gets sold or goes co-op. [ Reply | More ]

It has been sold. At this point the landlord has no vested interest in fucking the poster. Why make it harder? There is nothing the 15 year old lease is going to say that can harm you. Has landlord given you a reason to not trust him? I say give it and say thanks. [ Reply | More ]

Don't provide it. Ask him why he wants it. You are under no obligation to give it to him. [ Reply | More ]
