NO! It is a health related profession. You go and receive a B.S. in Occupational Therapy. My sister is one. You normally do two years pre-reqs at a university and then finish at a medical institution. [ Reply | More ]

not cheesy to the ppl who need them. I had spinal therapy and had a OT come in for 2 wks while I was in the hospital and show me how to do the simple things (like get up, tie my shoe, grab for something high, ect) and do it safely. They are needed [ Reply | More ]

and she doesn't need it from any kind of serious school. you just need the degree to get the license. the school matters nada [ Reply | More ]

the level of licensed health work like OT, RT, etc really don't look at what school you attended or care. it's about your license and how quickly you can learn and do your job well. it's not like some other professions in the hospital because OT training/education is pretty standard across the board. RT is actually a much easier/less skilled job. you can be a licensed RT with only an associate's degree. [ Reply | More ]

np: ita. Plus, OT/PT/Speech are competitive programs to even get in to. It's something like 1:8 ratio of people that get accepted to programs. [ Reply | More ]

hmm the licensing is more important than where you got the degree in my experience. once you are qualified to work you can either suck or be great and your schooling sometimes has very little to do with how well you perform in the occupation-- kinda like law school :) [ Reply | More ]

if you want to be really respected, choose something more specific, like speech or physical therapy. (signed, mom of child getting ST, PT and OT) [ Reply | More ]
