i had a positive preg test this AM. when i called OB, he told me to come in for HCG and progesterone tests, and then said, "Okay, we'll see." We'll see what? Are there a lot of false positives on HPT, or is he just saying that b/c of high miscarriage rates. I am 18 dpo, fwiw. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

OB's see lots of pgs that don't proceed so I think they are very guarded until they see good numbers on the blood test and visualize a heart beat. Don't fret, you are pg. Congrats! [ Reply | More

honestly, it's better to be cautious. I was so thrown off guard when I miscarried at 12 weeks - everyone kept saying at my age and having seen a hb, etc. etc. there was almost no chance of m/c. [ Reply | More
