Day Care: I am looking for a good day care that accepts infants (around 4 months old) in one of the following neighborhoods: Lower Manhattan near City Hall, West Soho or in Midtown. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated! [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

i loved children's garden, i'ts in chelsea, but it's really wonderful, and especially with very little babies. the caregivers are all grandmothers, have all been there for many years, and it's a beautiful setting [ Reply | More

i think it was pretty normal for daycare in manhattan, maybe even lower, i think we paid 1500/month for 4 days. it might seem not as spotless and shiny as some of the others you'll see, but i really really loved it there. [ Reply | More

NP. That is a great deal, and sounds very nice. My DD goes to a different daycare that would not be convenient to you, but in the end the #1 thing to me for daycare is that the teachers are warm and loving. I don't have personal experience, but you can also look into Trinity Daycare, Manhattan Kids Club (Union Square), CADS (children's all day school) in Midtown. Ask about teacher turnover. Put your name down if you can even if there is a waitlist. You can always find a babysitter for a few months while you wait. [ Reply | More
