Based on what I have gathered in the board - 72% of 99s listed Anderson first, 6% chose not to return the form, 16% listed NEST first, and 6% listed LL first. If indded there are around ~200 99s - that means 144 people for about 45 slots, so about a 30% chance of getting Anderson for a 99. I keep hoping UB isn't a representative sample! Of the 23 99s who ranked Anderson first, 9 ranked NEST second- so 39% [ Reply | More ]

Please remember that not nearly all of the 99s will be returning the form--all of the Hunter and private school folks who scored 99s are likely not obsessively posting right now they are getting ready for next year. [ Reply | More ]

You think higher than 6% of the 99s chose not to return? Would be thrilled! [ Reply | More ]

Yes, a LOT higher. Think 48 kids in Hunter all from Manhattan. What is the chance that most of those kids took the Olsat and most did around 99? Plus TT private kids (remember no one knew about private when we took Olsat) Plus someone last night figured out the 68% of the 97+ scores were from outer boroughs. I doubt that most of those people would travel in. Again, UB is no random sample (or Yahoo groups where a similar poll on scores is going on) If you believe the Yahoo poll, for instance you would think 80% of those who got over 90% got over 97% (when we know from DOE posted numbers that it is 42%) [ Reply | More ]

np - And it's not just 48 kids in Hunter. If UB is to be believed, around 12 kids were called from the waitlist, so it would be 60 kids. Of course, not all took the OLSAT or did well on it. [ Reply | More ]

99s who have spots at Hunter and most TT private have moved on. Why don't you poll to try to find them on here--I bet you won't find too many hanging out with the likes of us! [ Reply | More ]

some of us who have dc's with 99s didn't post what they are doing here. Some 99's don't even frequent UB! Imagine that! [ Reply | More ]
