Our nanny lives in 5 days/wk. She's nice, but one thing kinda bugs me... I'm home only 1 day/week, and when I'm here, I often run errands. The minute I come back, she says, "I'm going out for an hour." To do what, I don't know. She never asks if there is anything she can do for me before she goes, just says she's going. Often there are things I could use help with (right now, organizing the kids' room). I can understand her wanting to go out, but on the other hand I'm paying her for her time & it's the one day of the week when we can tackle projects together b4 the kids get home from school. I told her up-front that light housekeeping and helping to keep the kids' stuff organized is part of the job, yes, and laundry. My kids are generally at school till between 1 and 5 depending on the day. [ Reply | More

I don't care if she goes out for an hour or longer on the days when I'm not here, but I do wish she'd stick around when I'm here. I swear, we have like 4 hours a week when we can actually work together to get anything done around the house. [ Reply | More
