I fed db Similac Organic from about 4 months to 12 months. She's now 13 months and has moved on to milk. This week I heard about how Org Sim has cane sugar and is much much sweeter than any other formula - it will be banned in Europe, and probably won't last much longer here either. The danger is that dcs will eat only sweet foods, which leads to obesity, tooth decay, etc. Thankfully dd eats everything, but I feel so stupid and guilty. Anyone else use this formula? Yes, I feel the same way. So annoyed. I should have suspected something when DB CLEARLY preferred the similac organic to the earth's best. [ Reply | More ]

At the same time, I think eating habits are more about what we feed them, modeling (us eating well ourselves). A little cane sugar is not going to have that much impact in the long run. [ Reply | More ]

I just fear it's not a little cane sugar but a TON of cane sugar. But I do agree with you that our own eating habits are what really matters - settng a good example. [ Reply | More ]

I know... at least the milk is organic so they won't hit puberty at 9 bc of bovine growth hormones. You just can't win 'em all. [ Reply | More ]

true. So you think we should have chosen earth's best organic, and not just non-organic? [ Reply | More ]

Yes, earths best organic would have been better than non-organic. [ Reply | More ]

I used it. DD is now almost 6. She actually didn't esp like sweets for a few years. She likes them now but will stop herself from eating too much because she will say "I didn't want to have too much junk in one day." It's bizarre to me b/c I would never have done that at that age. In any case, don't let these BS headlines freak you out. It's all speculation. Btw dd is totally normal weight and height [ Reply | More ]
