I used a lot of Equal throughout my preg and now while ebfing. Would do the same w/ Splenda; I'm not neurotic. [ Reply | More ]

i have no official answer, but i say no. i'm against any unnatural chemical stuff during preg. i mean, i'm sure it's ok, but hell, preg. is one time you should feel free to eat what you want, you're going to get big anyways [ Reply | More ]

I read in a preg book that our bodies can't absorb the chemical that is in splenda (which is what makes it calorie free) and therefore, it's safe to use when preg because it never enters the blood stream. However, i'm preg and have switched to reg. sugar. I just don't like the idea of putting unnecessary chemicals in my body [ Reply | More ]

no. I just purged my diet of all Splenda and I'm not even pg. The stuff is poison; plus, I read a study that showed that people who use Splenda regularly actually gain MORE weight than people who use regular sugar! Regardless, I'd never use it while pg (and I'm of the mindset that says it's okay to drink a glass of wine, or eat feta, just so you know I'm not super puritanical) [ Reply | More ]

np -- there's more definitive research on the risks of soft cheese and alcohol than splenda! [ Reply | More ]

there is absolutley no definitive research on the effects of one glass of wine a day; and all US feta is pasteurized. Give me a break. The point is, those things are not filled with chemicals; for me, that's the priority. For me something like Splenda needs to be proven SAFE, not proven UNSAFE. [ Reply | More ]

that is fine; i have no problem with your point of view; i'm just noting that it is arbitrary. have a good day [ Reply | More ]

It's not arbitrary at all. Naturally occurring yes; chemicals created in a lab no. Nothing could be less arbitrary. You have a good day too. [ Reply | More ]
