how many of your pediatricians took db off whole milk at the 2yo checkup. ds's was very ambivalent about it, and so i'm not really sure what to do. he's really big (84% weight, 97 height) so he doesn't need calories, but isn't the fat good for their brains? thanks. [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

it's not a major diff between the 2% and whole milk. (5g of fat vs 8 g or something), so they still get the fat that's needed for developing from 2%. FWIW, my ped said it wasn't a big deal to switch her over at 2 yo so that I didn't go crazy buying 2 diff kinds of milk for her and for younger dd (but she was also small) [ Reply | More ]

Mine kept dd on it, but she is in the 6th percentile for weight. Otherwise, 4yo went off it at 2 (normal weight). [ Reply | More ]
