my nephew is 6 years ols (dh sisters kid), he is awful all the time, screams in church, kicks, puches, i have never see a kid act like this before, and i used to work at a day care. He tried to throw my son (2) sown a flight of cement cellar steps. he has also said things like the reason he wants to be a police officer is so that he can kill people, something he's wanted to do "his whole life". when i told my SIL about this she just kinda shrugged and said "boys will be boys" WWYD? I am really concerned that he is disturbed.... [ Reply | Watch | Flag ]

there was a child at my ds's OT last year who grabbed dd's doll, threw it repeatedly on the floor, and yelled "your doll is DEAD! DEAD!" it was horrible. I knew he had issues, but his mom was right there. Although, it would be hard to be her. Anyway, I agree with above poster, there's nothing you can do but stay away. You could ask DH to talk to her, or maybe better yet, DH to talk to MIL to talk to SIL [ Reply | More ]

I have a 6 yo boy and that's not normal boy behavior. He sounds troubled and will likely be in juvie by 12. [ Reply | More ]

He'll be in juvie because of his mother. She's not getting him the help he needs now, and his psychological issues will get overlooked [ Reply | More ]

np: that has nothing to do with it. I'm having trouble even working up the courage to talk to my bro about his 9yo. I'm sure OP has even more trouble talking with SIL [ Reply | More ]

I HATE that EXCUSE boys will be boys. UGH it infuriates me when parents don't want to parent and have an excuse for their misbehaving boys (and girls). That is not normal behavior. Keep your dc away from this kid [ Reply | More ]

that sounds horrible, i have 2 boys, the oldest is 4. i could not tolerate that, i dont even like my 4 yr old using the word "hate", find it too strong. but really not much you can do, can dh talk to his sister or bil...try not to judge, just show your concern...if that is possible.
